Former UVU officer. Heard the shot, found an empty pistol holster in the grass, and did not treat it as the murder weapon because he thought the report was a rifle. Six of 15 UVU officers were working the event.
Nester used Bagley on security gaps: no magnetometers, no drones, no security debrief he knew of. A second officer’s report, introduced through Hull, said a gun was found in the holster. Those two descriptions need the native reports side by side. This is a discarded lead, not a second-shooter proof.
