Recovered Mauser-type .30-06 rifle
Bolt-action hunting rifle with scope, one spent round, three unfired engraved cartridges, found wrapped in a towel in woods north of campus. State: grandfather's rifle, Robinson's DNA on trigger and parts.
Twiggs April 2026 recorded interview
Video played at prelim, not live testimony. Twiggs: the day after the shot Robinson cried and said he wished he hadn't done it. Use immunity. Parts redacted. Attorney: he cooperated throughout.
Campus surveillance of alleged rooftop shooter
CCTV the state says shows Robinson on campus four times on 10 Sep, including rolling onto the Losee roof, going prone, and dropping off with an object. Identification is the spine of the official case – and of the Owens counter-case.
Rooftop screwdriver
Found on the Losee roof. FBI: very strong support that DNA on it (and the towel) came from Robinson and Twiggs. State's July 2026 memo: used to assemble the rifle. Defense: DNA does not time the deposit.
Practice targets at the residence
Faumuina: targets from the home search, most hits in the center, some called bullseye. Offered as shooting-skill context, not as a match to the neck wound.
Roof-edge palm print / footwear
Palm prints and smudges at the Losee roof drop point; Converse impression on the ground. State collected for comparison. Public file does not yet hold the comparison stats.
Kirk WhatsApp on leaving the pro-Israel cause
6 Oct 2025 Owens posted private WhatsApp. Kirk: lost about $2M from a Jewish donor after refusing to condemn Tucker Carlson; "no choice but to leave the pro-Israel cause." Kolvet authenticated the next day.
Harpole says roof overwatch was promised and empty
Kirk's security director: UVU police ("the chief") said rooftops were covered. After the shot, he said nobody was up there. Drones denied. Stairways to roofs had been flagged.
Four rounds in the rifle
One spent, three unfired engraved. State: loading four shows he knew he could miss, which is the crowd-risk aggravator. Defense: just as likely the shooter did not think he would miss.
FBI person-of-interest stills
Released 11 Sep 2025: grainy figure in dark cap, sunglasses, long-sleeve shirt with flag/eagle. Parents recognized him. Facial recognition on the same video had failed earlier that day.
Engraved cartridge casings
Spent case: furry copypasta "Notices Buldge OWO what's this?" Unfired: Helldivers 2 500kg-bomb code, "Bella ciao," "If you read This, you are GAY Lmao." Early WSJ "trans ideology" bulletin was wrong.
Empty holster in the grass
Bagley: empty pistol holster in the grass after the shot; he ignored it because the report sounded like a rifle. Nester: another officer's report said a gun was in the holster. Hull: an unfired round on a different roof was an officer ejecting a rifle cartridge.
TEST SHOT casing and Dremel
Search of the St. George apartment: extra .30-06 ammo, a casing engraved TEST SHOT, engraving tools, and a Dremel Twiggs said Robinson asked for about a month earlier 'to engrave bullets' for a hunt. ATF: that Dremel made the rifle and home engravings.
Father phone call: too much hate
Charging / ABC reporting: on 11 Sep Robinson told his father by phone he had killed Kirk because "there is too much evil and the guy spreads too much hate."
Neighborhood doorbell camera
Hull: a doorbell cam near UVU showed the suspect vehicle parked, then leaving. Loud crickets on the audio match a line in the quoted Robinson-Twiggs texts. A clip of the driver walking was described but not played in open court.
Gray Dodge Challenger
8:29 a.m. campus arrival. Registered to Tyler Robinson and his mother. ~12:30 a.m. 11 Sep the same car stopped near campus, contacted an officer, then tried to turn onto a closed road. Hull: that plate later tied the driver to the shooting.
Discord "it was me at UVU" message
Reporting: in a private Discord group ~an hour after the shooting Robinson joked about a doppelgänger, then later wrote he was the person at UVU and was about to surrender through a sheriff friend. Account later suspended.
DNA on rifle, towel, casings, rooftop screwdriver
State: Robinson DNA on trigger, rifle parts, fired casing, two unfired cartridges, towel, and a screwdriver from the roof. Towel also has Twiggs DNA. Defense attacked methods, mixtures, and roommate comparison timing.
Converse footprint below the drop
Investigators: a footprint on the ground after the north-corner drop showed Converse sneakers. Forearm imprints and palm prints were collected at the roof edge.
Burnt paper in apartment trash
Faumuina: a burnt note in a trash can at the residence. State implied a comparison to the keyboard note. Defense objected; prosecutors moved on after a sidebar. Not developed in open court.
Discarded shooting clothes
State's 28 Jul 2026 memo: Robinson obstructed by hiding the rifle, trying to recover it, and changing and discarding clothes worn during the shooting. Native recovery location not in this file.
ATF match of home casings to recovered rifle
ATF report read in court: cartridge casings seized inside Robinson's home had been fired by the Mauser found in the woods. Separate from the inconclusive autopsy-fragment comparison.

Gravel sniper pad
Bagley and the Information: elbow/knee/foot impressions in Losee roof gravel, a prone pad with a clear corridor to Kirk's seat. No spent casings on that roof when Bagley first looked.
Scope mentioned in texts
Charging thread: Robinson on the rifle, 'I think that was a $2k scope.' State recovered a scoped Mauser-type. Native phone extract not here.
Unusual gait, rifle-in-pants claim
Information: from 11:51 until the railing cross, the figure walked with little bend in the right leg, 'consistent with a rifle being hidden in his pants.' Limp then gone on the roof.
No spent casings on the roof
Bagley found none on first look. Information: one spent round still in the recovered bolt-action, three unfired. Consistent with a bolt gun, not an auto-loader dumping brass on gravel.
UVU dispatch: Alpha 34, shots fired
OpenMHz recording: a UVU officer, ~12:23 p.m., 'Alpha 34, we have shots fired. Charlie Kirk is down.' Another unit: Kirk on the way to the hospital.
Autopsy, gunshot to the neck
Hull at prelim: homicide by gunshot wound to the neck. Jacket fragment recovered, sent to ATF. Defense objected to showing the report. No public sign the pathologist found a non-gunshot mechanism.
Bagley bodycam died on the roof
Bagley: camera stopped while he was on Losee. 'I think my battery died.' About 27 minutes of footage that day. He did not return once it charged because the scene was chaos.
Roommate text thread and keyboard note
Information quotes the post-shot thread: look under the keyboard, 'You're joking, right,' then 'you weren't the one who did it right,' confession, grandpa's rifle, $2k scope, 'I had enough of his hatred,' delete this / ask for a lawyer. Owens says feds typed it.
Keyboard note
Information: roommate found a note under the keyboard, 'I had the opportunity to take out Charlie Kirk and I'm going to take it.' Police say they have a photograph. CNN/hearing recaps often quote past tense: 'and I took it.'
Family dinner, dislike of Kirk
Charging: mother told police that before the shooting Robinson called UVU a 'stupid venue' and said Kirk 'spreads hate.' She also said he had 'leaned left' and was dating a roommate who was transitioning.
Utah charging / probable-cause statement
16 Sep 2025 Information: seven counts plus victim-targeting enhancements. Death penalty noticed. County PDF is the state's theory in legal form, not a finding.
